I MAC

Ok- so Bert bought me an I Mac a couple weeks ago..it is the BOMB!! I love it! I was playing around on it last night and I realized I can actually play around w/ my pics. I have always wanted Adobe photoshop but didnt want to fork over the cash so this might appease me for a while and then I can ask for photoshop for Christmas. WHICH speaking of Christmas my son Micah reminded me this morning that Christmas is only 4 mos and 4 days from today! Uhhh didnt we just start 2008 and now it is almost over!!!

EG turns 9

Wow...where did our summer go???? COME BACK!   We started back homeschooling on the 11th so we are now in our second week of school. So far so good. We are finishing in about 3-4 hours each day. I know that will increase as the year progresses but I am enjoying these "short" days.

We finished up the summer w/ EG turning 9. I still cant believe she is 9.  She is turning into such a precious young lady. She loves the Lord so much and it is so neat to see her developing her own walk w/ God. She has an awesome sense of humor and great laugh..she keeps us in stitches!  We started off her birthday by picking up some of her friends and going to CHUCK E CHEESE...I soo love how Rick and Bubba call it Chuck E Cheese hell! lol. It was absolute chaos in there and I was alone w/ all 6 girls.(another medal for mom). Then we headed home to swim and have cake and ice cream.   The next day EG left for Grandma and Grandpas for a week! She had a great time there and of course did not want to come home.

We had a fun cook out provided by Ron and Ruth at Beach Shade-n-Shelter. They bring all the food to you, cook it and set the table! It was so yummy..all we had left were 4 pieces of corn on the cob. If you are in the Gulf Shores area I highly recommend them!

Randomness

Wow it seems like we have not slowed down this summer! We went to D.C., Sophie turned 3. Tyler went to teen camp, Micah and EG went to junior camp. I got to meet up w/ some of my adoption friends at the zoo, we have had swim parties and we are now at the beach! Where has our summer gone? Do we really start school again in a little over a month???? I have to hurry and relax some more!

Faith

I am slowly trying to catch up on my posting. A few weeks ago I was so blessed to be able to meet w/ my friend Jennifer and her gorgeous new daughter from Vietnam, Faith. It is really awesome how God has allowed our families paths to cross. Please keep the St John family in your prayers as they have many awesome changes going on in their family.

D.C. Vacation!

Hi all! We left DC today and are now in Williamsburg VA. This was our family's first time in DC and we loved it! We have learned so much. We stayed busy for 3 solid days and still didnt even come close to seeing everything. What rich history we have experienced. We stayed in this awesome 4 star hotel called the Omni Shoreham. We got it at a great deal on priceline and it was close to the metro and everything else we needed. The metro was quite an experience for us...it took some time to get use to the metro..DC is so busy! We were really looking forward to seeing the Smithsonian American History museum but it is still closed for renovations. Here is a list of some of the things we were able to see.
Smithsonian Zoo
Lincoln Memorial
Union Station
Washington Monument
Library of Congress
Capitol
Air and Space museum
Bureau of Engraving and Printing
Smithsonian museum of natural science
Holocaust Museum
I think there was more but it is late and I can't remember. I will post about Colonial Williamsburg after our experience.
