More pics from the weekend

Sophie meets the Pierce family

Since we had the party for Bert it gave the Pierce side of the family a chance to meet Sophie. They have all waited SOOO patiently to make sure we were settled in to come visit. THANK YOU! Sophie had a great time meeting her Granny and more aunts, uncles and cousins. Aunt Amy brought Sophie a baby doll and some bottles which was a BIG hit! We had a great time staying up late Friday night and watching Aunt Amy laugh until she cried! Saturday morning we had a big breakfast and spent the afternoon fishing, jumping on the trampoline and riding 4 wheelers and scooters. We cant wait for the family to come again!

Surprise Daddy!!

Last night we had an awesome surprise 40th birthday party for Bert with some of our nearest and dearest. 3 of Berts brothers and their families were there along with his mom and ALOT of friends. Bert had no clue!! Of course I have had to fib to him all week.(uh-oh). He said I was the last person he EVER expected to be able to pull this off! GOTCHA Babe!! It was so much fun and thank you all who came to help us celebrate my awesome hubby!

Pics of Sophie and her baby doll

Feed the baby

Sophie was so cute with this baby doll this morning. The baby cries (you can hear it on the video). Sophie gets so jealous if I hold this baby and rock it! You can also hear Sophie say "mama" in this video.

Yum

This was too funny. Bert totally bribed Sophie with this sucker. He put the stick end in his mouth and she would come up to him to get to the candy part. She was loving it and of course he was too!! Gully had to get in on the action too!

IAC

Today was Sophies appt at the International Adoption Clinic. Dr. Chambers and her staff are absolutely wonderful! Sophie now weighs in at 22 pounds. She is in the 10th percentile for weight and 5th for height. She is going to be a little girl for a while. She had to have blood drawn too..somehow we survived! She is such a trooper. After her appt we ran home had some lunch and headed out again for her cardiologist appointment. Her VSD is still there but it is very small and he feels sure it will close on its own. So praise the Lord it was good reports all around. She will go back to the IAC in 3 weeks and we will get all her lab results to see what shots she still needs, etc. My pictures wont upload right now but as soon as they do I will post them.

Video = conquered

Ok I think I figured out this video thing...it has only taken my like 2 hours..not bad and I did it on my own! whoo hoo. (Bert cheered me on). I dont know why it is showing 2 video screens?? Now if I could just figure out how to get my captions right!
When Bert comes home exhausted every morning he always takes a minute to enjoy time with the kids before going to bed. Sophie loves to crawl on top of him.

Pancakes, Noodles and Yogurt

This has been Sophies nutritious menu for the past 2 days. She will eat NOTHING else. I have tried everything we eat. She wont eat at restaraunts..I dont know what is up. We have tried mac n cheese, scrambled eggs, rice, gerber graduates meals etc. etc. Any suggestions are welcome! She ate everything in China and seemed to enjoy it...??
Today we took the kids to the playstation/skate station here in Trussville. The boys had a great time playing video games and laser tag. Elizabeth enjoyed her new roller skates and Sophie enjoyed stealing peoples skee balls and playing "dance dance revolution".

Dad is so much fun

My beauty queen wave

I cant ever get these captions right. But in the one with Sophie and Micah..they are playing chase around the coffee table. The other picture where she is sitting on the white paper. Kim M, that is one of your signs you made for the airport. She loves to sit on it and then have Bert or they boys pull her around on the carpet. I knew you wouldnt mind!
We decided to eat out Friday night and unfortunately Sophie does not like her car seat. In fact she hates her car seat! She did ok as we traveled to Costa's but boy did she scream on the way home. That was our first time go anywhere with Sophie since we have been home. She stared and waved at the couple behind us all night. She was quite the entertainer. Poor Elizabeth Grace started running fever at the restaurant and was sick all weekend. I am praying the rest of us do not get what she had. Saturday night I took Elizabeth, Kaitlin and Sophie to Michaels. The girls had gift cards from Grannie Pierce. Again, Sophie did fine on the way there but she screamed bloody murder the whole way home. She was completely drenched in sweat by the time we got home. So we haven't left the house again. I am hoping she will start liking it more soon. I guess a trip to the beach house or grandma's are not in our near future. I'll be lucky to make it to Wal-Mart!!
Bert and the boys went to church this weekend and we had a few visitors on Sunday. Sophie did great. I think a few people at a time is much better than the way it was when we first got home. Not near as confusing for her. I know alot of you have called about coming to see her, just give me another call and we will set something up.
Sophie is really starting to say some words. My favorite that she says is Daaaaa Da. But she screams it more than says it. It is really funny. She loves her daddy. Everyday I see her getting him wrapped a little tighter and tighter around her finger. Between she and Elizabeth Grace, Bert is in trouble.
